6 Eco-Friendly Alternatives to Plastic Straws
3 Minute Read.
Every bit of plastic ever created still exists.
WHAAAAA?!?!?!?! Crazy right? I bet you thought it all got recycled, but unfortunately it hasn’t. Now, we can’t change this fact, but we can change how much plastic is produced from this day forward by exercising our power as consumers and by choosing eco-friendly alternatives to plastic.
In the US alone: 500 MILLION plastic straws are used EVERYDAY. That’s enough straws to wrap around the Earth 2.5 times, which is really hard to wrap my head around, and my guess is: you probably feel the same.

So what can I do?
Well, it all starts with 2 very simple words:
Whether its your ice coffee or cold-pressed juice, even the early morning has opportunities to #RefuseTheStraw and take a bite out of the earth’s plastic pollution problem. Everytime time you say, “No straw please,” you’re bringing awareness to the people around you, and you’re being an activist without having to do the whole tie-yourself-to-a-tree thing.
So let’s keep it simple:
(repeat after me)
“I’ll take a large decaf iced latte, extra foam, with almond milk. No plastic straw please.”
( see? . . . simple 😉 )
Still wanna hang onto that straw??? Aright aright . . .
